Event Photography

It's about capturing...
bride and groom
cutting the wedding cake
wedding preparations
stunning room shots, great details, the real life,
...of any event.

Don't miss recording a memorable and important happening in the most comprehensive manner with only the best equipment. We will photograph all aspects of the event, including setup, room shots, and all the little details that make it special: food, flowers, table settings, etc.

Our style is always unobtrusive, and our firm belief that people look best when not aware of being photographed is clearly reflected in the naturalness and beauty of our work.
Clients will keep all the high-res originals and can make their own reprints. We usually shoot both black&white and color at the same time, using several cameras. Apart from English, André also speaks German, Spanish, and French - just in case...

Stunning Room Shots! ... a lot went into making the event, we can record it in a way that will permanently show off the beauty, sophistication and lighting of the space.

Real Life! ... See all the happenings of this important day, don't miss a beat...

Real Joy! ... Every moment of the celebration will be recorded, as it happens -- not just studied poses but the real smiles.

Real Emotions! ... You will never want to lack the crucial picture - photos, that show the love, the happiness, the beauty of the day.

the art of celebration

from "The Art of Celebtration"":

The talents of a great photographer can touch on the superhuman:  a photographer must first possess the uncanny ability to be everywhere at once, invisibly of course, and read the minds of his subjects. Then translate his style into one that fits seamlessly into the moments of the events. That, combined with mastering the art of digitally perfecting each photo, gives the photographer a special power all his own.

One such superhuman is German-born André Maier.   Nearly two decades ago, this former molecular biologist decided to follow his true passion, eventually getting out of the laboratory and into the darkroom.  Focused on people and the details that surround them, his photojournalistic style has earned the loyalty and admiration of legions of New Yorkers.

Clients—established and prospective—know exactly what they’ll get in André Maier Photography, including André’s personal attention.  Yes, New Yorkers do talk.

Although his fans may not be able to put their finger on precisely what makes them delight in their photographs, André can—it’s what guides each project.  Whether it’s blurring a background to emphasize a focal point, exaggerating the red hue of a table setting, securing an unbelievable vantage point or boosting an entrance’s illumination, André works tirelessly to convey what each moment felt like.  In the end, it’s why we love photos that connect us:  it’s to remember how we felt in that moment. André captures those moments as beautifully as his clients remember them.

When looking at their photography, I want my clients to immediately be transported to that moment—what it felt like, what it meant to them.
